Come, put your creative genius to good use, and become part of the Never Mind Armageddon Movement--a movement that seeks transformative, tangible alternatives that everyone can put into action in their local communities, now. The World situation--violence, terrorism, economic injustice, oppression, discrimination, abuse, and climate change--is unacceptable. Like a forest fire that inevitably burns itself out, violence and environmental destruction are simply unsustainable. Unless specific alternatives are articulated, the status quo will just continue unabated. This site seeks to re-imagine the world, presenting alternatives to dysfunctional systems created by obsolete world-views and mental rigidity.
The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer. They think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. ~Ken Kesey
It is our hope that through networking and collective intelligence we can rethink society. Due to technological advances in weaponry and accelerated environmental problems, we may not have the luxury of time that has been afforded previous generations. Therefore, we are asking you to act mindfully, but act. Please check out our blog and the links below to get involved.
Economic Ecology
"Economics as if people mattered." ~E.F. Schumacher
We strongly believe the root of the majority of the world's problems lies in our approach to money. Except for the 1%, central banking and interest-bearing currency simply don't work. In fact, it doesn't even work for the 1%. History has shown the 99% invariably get pushed beyond their limits into frustration, madness, terrorism, and violent revolution. To act effectively, it is vital to understand the money itself, the currency, and the way the banking system operates. |
Specific steps you can take to implement economic ecology in your community 1. Pull your money out of the too-big-to-fail banks and move it into local credit unions 2. See if your community has a TimeBank 3. Support efforts to audit the Federal Reserve and create an interest-free currency issued by Congress and the People 4. Read, Watch, and Learn about the flaws in the baking system and the ponzi scheme called "Fractional Reserve Banking" by checking out our Resources. |
“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around these banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” -Thomas Jefferson |
Mind Gardens
Armageddon seems to be a kind of self-fulfilling prophecy. If global destruction, Armageddon, tragically does occur, it will be due to thousands of years of questionable thinking--atom bombs, AK-47s, interest-bearing currency, repossession, exploitation of suffering for profit. All are effects, whose cause seems to be a fundamental misperception of ultimate reality. The sun doesn't charge for sunlight. Nor does rain charge interest. All these things are the creations of human thought. To change these effects, we need to change the cause. |
Mind in its natural state exhibits a phenomenal ability to transform. Science has shown a fundamental quality of the brain is neuroplasticity, the ability to restructure itself. Mind is a healthy garden, continually growing, changing, restructuring. In nature, leaves fall off the trees in harmony with natural cycles, not because some lunatic decides he's going to bulldoze the forest. It would be beneficial if we could replace unsustainable, habitual mind-practices based on fear such as aggression, greed, control, and abuse with more healthy alternatives. These aggressive thoughts are mind parasites, impurities that have been imputed into our mind's ecology by society, not unlike pesticides leaked into groundwater. The fundamental nature of the water is pristine. Apparently the same is true for the fundamental nature of mind. A mind more inclined to creative thoughts, wild awakenings, and spontaneous insights will be more inclined to be happy, constructive, and maintain a functional society than minds completely consumed with thoughts of aggression, vengeance, exploitation, and ego. The late Tibetan teacher Chogyam Trungpa often said that you can't create an enlightened society without enlightened people. Toward than end, we've added some links, curiosities, thoughts, and speculations on what a thriving "Mind Garden," an enlightened mind, would actually be on our Resources page.
